In accordance with physicians orders, the Occupational Therapist assesses, evaluates, plans, and carries out occupational therapy programs to restore maximum reasonable function and to minimize disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired disabilities. Position tasks and responsibilities include:

• Plans, organizes and conducts programs in a variety of sensorimotor, educational, recreational and social activities designed to help patients regain physical and or mental functioning or adjust to their handicaps.
• Plans therapeutic care based on clinical assessment.
• Teaches patient skills and techniques required for participation in activities.
• Evaluates, records and reports on patient’s response to treatment and progress toward identified goals.
• Integrates occupational therapy treatments with other aspects of patient care.

The VP of Quality/ Risk Management/ Infection Control is responsible for the following:

• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the organizational wide direction and facilitation of performance assessment, reassessment, development and implementation of the Quality/Performance Improvement program in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
• Utilizes, integrates, and interprets data to assist organization in its improvement efforts, and promote optimal patient outcomes. Works collaboratively with Senior Management to develop strategic quality initiatives.
• Leads organizational performance efforts for JCAHO, core quality measures, COP and regulatory and all other accrediting and regulatory agencies. Ensures compliance with JCAHO, and all legal, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements are met.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for organizational wide occurrence reporting system; analyzes and reports trends and identifies appropriate interventions to reduce risk and liability to the organization.
• Develops and implements educational programs for employees, medical staff and board members on analysis of risk assessment, historical and concurrent occurrence and claims data and national trends.
• Facilitates and directs organizational wide risk management program to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards of professional organizations, i.e., JCAHO, OSHA, etc.
• Participates in and provides leadership for organizational disaster preparedness and patient safety initiatives.
• Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement in delivery of services, through measuring, monitoring and assessing risk management processes and systems.
• Acts as an active member of peer review committees; analyzes cases and outcome data and collaborates with physicians to promote and improve practice and optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and reports trends in occurrences to staff quarterly. This information is used to improve patient safety. Addresses patient safety in the Performance Improvement Plan.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Post Graduate Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field required or in process
• Minimum 5 years of hospital Quality leadership experience
• Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations
• Current Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse
• CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) OR CHCQM (Diplomate in American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians) Individuals without CPHQ or ABQUARP will be granted a 12 month grace period to obtain.

The OR Aide performs direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting and assists in the maintenance of a safe, clean environment.

The RN Case Manager works with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop a plan for each patient from admission to discharge.

The tasks and responsibilities include:

• Performs continuous assessments and evaluations to ensure patient is progressing towards desired outcomes.

• Coordinates the discharge planning process ensuring involvement of all members of the healthcare team. Counsels with patients and family members in decision making and in meeting psycho social needs of the patient.
• Maintains knowledge of resources and facilities available to patients and family members.
• Collaborates with personnel at other facilities to coordinate smooth and effective patient transfers and transitions.
• Compiles, evaluates, and reports statistics to members of the team and utilizes the information to facilitate process improvement activities.
• Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Requirements:

• Current licensure as an RN
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.

The Director Surgical Services reports to the Chief Nursing Officer, and is responsible for the overall administration and organization of Sterile Processing Department/Same Day Surgery/ PACU/OR/CVOR and ENDO. This position is responsible for achieving three fundamental objectives:

If pre-certification is needed, call the insurance precert department and initiate review or verify authorization number provided by scheduling staff. Enter all information and authorization numbers into the registration system. ? Secure all signatures necessary for treatments, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services from legally responsible parties. Obtain copies of necessary identification and insurance cards. ? Explain policies regarding services, charges, insurance billing, and payment of account. Request full or partial payment for services rendered according to collection policies. Issue a Business Office letter to all patients according to policy ? Obtain proper authorization for treatment and approval codes from the insurance carrier for patients presenting for treatment insured by an MCO. Collect co-pays, deposits, and deductibles and documents collection status in the system and chart. Issue waivers for signatures when appropriate. ? Inform former patients or their representatives of delinquent accounts and attempt to obtain payment. Refer delinquent accounts to the Manager/Supervisor for further action ? Receive and receipt payments from patient for services rendered. Prepare daily deposits and maintains the integrity of the cash drawer ? Produce paperwork on each patient for distribution to appropriate departments. Align pertinent documents for establishing the patient’s medical record and financial file ? Register and admit all patients after the other registration departments are closed. Route admission documents and forms to appropriate departments ? Price, key, and detail patient charges. Burst charts for distribution to physician’s billing service, medical records, ancillary departments, and the business office. Check for double charges on all accounts ? • Current licensure as an RN
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.

The nurse executive possesses a postgraduate degree in nursing or a related field; or the knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree or a written plan to obtain these qualifications.
