The FANS/Diet Clerk performs essential duties associated with the processing of menus and diet orders, patient information related to meal patterns, preferences, allergies, intolerance, religious or cultural food needs pertaining to the nutritional care and food service of all patients. Job tasks and responsibilities include:
Maintains computer system with accurate and current data.
Processes, modifies, and checks patient menus for each meal to assure compliance with dietary modifications and restrictions.
Identifies and processes orders for those patients needing assistance.
Coordinates delivery of tube feeding and oral supplement orders.
Participates in meal services and/or other production related duties as needed.
Maintains effective communication with patient and family. Ensures patients are informed of additional food item availability.
Maintains proactive and effective communication with dietary team.
Adheres to sanitation and safety standards (HACCP).
Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
Actively supports and participates in performance improvement activities.
Orients and mentors new staff members.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Knowledge of basic principles of nutrition as related to modified diets preferred.
1-2 years experience as a Diet Tech preferred.

The Director Surgical Services reports to the Chief Nursing Officer, and is responsible for the overall administration and organization of Sterile Processing Department/Same Day Surgery/ PACU/OR/CVOR and ENDO. This position is responsible for achieving three fundamental objectives:
* Meeting the organization's budgetary requirements.
* Managing human resources in a prudent manner so as to optimize staff skills and experience.
* Providing excellent customer service and satisfaction that continually exceeds expectations.
The Director Surgical Services serves as a liaison for the hospital to internal and external organizations, including various regulatory agencies, board members, surgeons and other healthcare providers, etc. It is expected that the Director of Surgical Services will provide strategic leadership and vision to the department, challenging assumptions and standards of business, in an effort to improve overall operational effectiveness.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. Interviews patients for all pertinent account information and verifies insurance coverage.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: ? Interview patients at workstation or at bedside to obtain all necessary account information. Bed-side registration performed utilizing carts/computers on wheels ? Ensure charts are completed and accurate ? Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization ? Calculate and collect patient liable amounts ? Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatments ? Answer any questions and explains policies clearly ? Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards ? Welcome patient and family members in a professional manner. Contact the nursing staff for emergency medical needs and answer patient and visitor questions ? Interview incoming patients, his/her relatives, or other responsible individuals to obtain identifying and biographical information with insurance and financial information ? Assign I-plans accurately and research Patient Visit History to comply with the Medicare 72 hour rule ? Search MPI completely and assign the correct medical code number. Notify Medical Records for any duplicate unit numbers ? Verify insurance benefits and determines pre-certification status. If pre-certification is needed, call the insurance precert department and initiate review or verify authorization number provided by scheduling staff. Enter all information and authorization numbers into the registration system. ? Secure all signatures necessary for treatments, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services from legally responsible parties. Obtain copies of necessary identification and insurance cards. ? Explain policies regarding services, charges, insurance billing, and payment of account. Request full or partial payment for services rendered according to collection policies. Issue a Business Office letter to all patients according to policy ? Obtain proper authorization for treatment and approval codes from the insurance carrier for patients presenting for treatment insured by an MCO. Collect co-pays, deposits, and deductibles and documents collection status in the system and chart. Issue waivers for signatures when appropriate. ? Inform former patients or their representatives of delinquent accounts and attempt to obtain payment. Refer delinquent accounts to the Manager/Supervisor for further action ? Receive and receipt payments from patient for services rendered. Prepare daily deposits and maintains the integrity of the cash drawer ? Produce paperwork on each patient for distribution to appropriate departments. Align pertinent documents for establishing the patient’s medical record and financial file ? Register and admit all patients after the other registration departments are closed. Route admission documents and forms to appropriate departments ? Price, key, and detail patient charges. Burst charts for distribution to physician’s billing service, medical records, ancillary departments, and the business office. Check for double charges on all accounts ? Work with physician offices and ancillary departments, providing information when necessary or forwarding relevant documents ? Document complaints received from patients, the medical staff, and ancillary departments on an incident report form and refer to coordinator for follow-up action ? Acknowledge, file, and send MOX messages via Meditech ? Check for physician orders and attaches them to the patient medical records to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests ? Escort patient to his/her destination or refers patient to an available escort ? Activate all pre-registered patients that have reported for services ? Abstract patient charts once discharged for the ER and retrieves a patient Medical Record once they present to ER for treatment ? Attends in-service presentations, and completes mandatory education week, including but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA standards ? Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues ? Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement” ? Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION ? High school diploma or GED required EXPERIENCE ? At least one year of registration experience preferred
Brandon Regional Hospital has more than a 30-year tradition of expanding medical programs and services to meet the needs of the community. The RN Case Manager works with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop a plan for each patient from admission to discharge.
The tasks and responsibilities include:
General responsibilities includes assisting in the overall management and implementation of patient care plans consistent with hospital policies, objectives and standards for measurement and maintenance of quality patient care. Additionally participates in the development of new educational and research programs for expansion of nursing and patient care services.
Functions at the senior leadership level to provide effective leadership and to coordinate leaders to deliver patient care, treatment and services.
Has the authority to speak on behalf of nursing to the same extent that other hospital leaders speak for their respective disciplines, departments or service lines.
Assumes an active role with the hospital’s governing body, senior leadership, medical staff, management, and other clinical leaders in the hospital’s decision-making structure and process.
Participates in defined and established meetings of the hospital’s corporate leaders (when such leaders exist) and with other senior clinical and managerial leaders.
Coordinates the development of hospital-wide plans to provide patient care, treatment, and services.
Coordinates the development of hospital-wide programs, policies, and procedures that address how patient care needs of the patient population (i.e. pediatric, geriatric, adult patients) are assessed, met and evaluated.
Coordinates the development of an effective, ongoing program to measure, analyze, and improve the quality of patient care, treatment, and services.
Directs the implementation of hospital-wide plans to provide patient care, treatment and services.
Directs the implementation of hospital-wide programs, policies, and procedures that address how patient care needs of the patient population are assessed, met, and evaluated.

The nurse executive is a licensed professional registered nurse qualified by advanced education and management experience
The nurse executive possesses a postgraduate degree in nursing or a related field; or the knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree or a written plan to obtain these qualifications.
(Note: A related field may include health care administration or business administration).
Notwithstanding the previous statement, as of 07-20-11, a Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing is the minimum education requirement for all new hire CNOs.
