Position Summary:The Ultrasonographer performs ultrasound examinations to assist in the diagnosis or treatment of disease; follows standards set forth by the ARDMS. Performs imaging and related procedures in the following areas; Abdomen, OB/Gyn and small parts. The Ultrasonographer demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, principles of sonic energy. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Follows all established Ultrasound, Radiology and Hospital Policies and Procedures and is proficient exams both within and outside of the Department.

Shift: Please note this is a primarily on-call position with guaranteed on-call hours/call back. Flexible candidates preferred.


Education/Experience:Completion of a formal Allied Health Profession Training in an America Medical Association- approved program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Must be eligible for registration by ARDMS.

Must be able to communicate effectively orally. License/Certification:Required:American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or ARRT and eligible for registration by ARDMS Radiologic Technology. Must have RVT certification.Basic CPR certification

Position Description:The Staff Radiologic Technologist is responsible for taking radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection and specialized techniques. These activities are performed within the Radiology Department and with portable units outside the Department. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary of medical ethics.1.Consistently produces films of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging form neonatal to geriatric.2.Clinical responsibilities:-Completes required documentation on forms, logs and in computer.-Images are labeled and identified according to protocol.-Reviews written orders, assesses patient identification and ensures indicators are appropriate prior to procedures.-Provides Radiologist with additional information about injury or illness and reason for non-standard images.-Functions independently and problem solves effectively, considering alternatives.-Obtains all pertinent patient history, and relays it to the Radiologist to assist in the diagnosis or treatment.3.Administer contrast media in accordance with the contrast policies & procedures.4.Is aware of radiation safety at all times.5.Follows Patient Care and Safety Policies and Procedures.6.Provides full support by performing job-related duties.7.Performs clerical responsibilities as required.8.Participate in team-building and self- improvement activities.

Education/Experience:Required: Graduate of an America Medical Association- approved program in Radiologic Technology or meet requirements for Texas certification of Medical Radiologic Technologist on an education-equivalent basis.Licenses/Certifications:Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Texas Certification of Medical Radiologic Technology, or ARRT eligible and Texas-Certified MRT or Texas Certification of Medical Radiologic Technology without ARRT with 10 years clinical experience.

Position Description: Provides health care services applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnostic or treatment. Performs computed tomography and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient’s conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.**Part-time position with call at the St. David’s Bastrop Free Standing ED**


KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Has frequent contact with patients, visitors, and families. Daily interaction with other departments. Operates and assists in maintaining high technology CT systems. Handles confidential patient medical records information. Maintains high standards of patient care. Operates H.I.S. computer terminals. Participates in P.I. process as necessary. Patients cared for will range in lifespan from infant to geriatric. Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA’s and St. David’s "Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required: Graduate from a school of Radiologic Technology approved by the American Medical Association. Experience performing full array of CT procedures on a multi-slice scanner and post-image processing.

Preferred: 1 year experience as a CT technologist, Advanced registry in Computed Tomography. 5 years in an acute care facility. Multi-modality a plus. Flexibility in schedule. Workstation & telerad experience.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:Required: American Registry Radiologic Technologists, TDH License, and AHA BLS certified. Registered in CT.
